We design with people and our planet in mind, with the goal of creating high fashion with a low environmental footprint. Since 2020, our strategy of producing made-to-order collections and on-demand couture bridal has reduced waste and inspired new methods of design and production. By paying living wages, using natural textiles, designing zero-waste styles, and giving back to the community via exhibitions and donations, we strive to set an example and inspire change within the industry.

  • What does zero waste mean? Zero waste means we net zero waste throughout our in-house production processes. As we create small-batch collections or custom garments, we do not throw remnants out; rather fabric and supplies are collected, sorted and stored so that we may repurpose, donate or recycle that which is not used. We also pattern in a zero waste method, meaning patterns fit together like a puzzle and all fabric is used; therefore, yielding no waste.

  • At Ferrah, we work with mostly natural materials. When we dye in-house, we use only natural dyes. When we order fabric, we opt for natural textiles. Natural fabrics have many benefits including compostability, breathability, longevity, and they do not produce micro-plastics in our water supply when washed. As of 2018, we no longer work with animal skins and have never worked with furs as we are a cruelty-free brand. We occasionally work with Piñatex - a vegan leather made from pineapple skin.

  • Supporting creators and artisans within our own community is an essential part of the Ferrah ethos. While most of our designs are created in-house, in some cases we team with regional manufacturers who can expertly produce certain products in an ethical manner.
